Our hedge services

A well-kept hedge gives privacy, shelter, security and kerb appeal — but left alone it quickly becomes overgrown, gappy and out of shape. With over 22 years' experience, we maintain, reduce and restore hedges of every type, and clear away every last clipping.

Routine trimming & shaping — Regular cuts to keep hedges crisp and dense.

Hedge reduction — Bringing down the height and width of hedges that have got too big.

Overgrown hedge restoration — Hard cutting back and reshaping neglected hedges.

Conifer & Leylandii reduction — Taming fast-growing conifers before they take over.

Native & farm hedge management — Maintenance of rural, boundary and field hedges.

Commercial & grounds maintenance — Regular hedge-cutting contracts for businesses and estates.

The right time to cut your hedges

Timing matters — not just for the look of the hedge, but for wildlife. Many birds nest in hedges between March and August, and it's an offence to disturb an active nest under the Wildlife and Countryside Act. We always check before we start and plan the work around nesting season.

Frequently asked questions

When should hedges be cut?

Late winter and late summer are usually ideal. We avoid the main bird-nesting season (March to August) wherever possible and always check for active nests first.

How often do hedges need trimming?

Most formal hedges benefit from one or two cuts a year; fast-growing species like Leylandii may need more.

Can you reduce a very tall or overgrown hedge?

Yes — sometimes in stages to keep the hedge healthy — reducing both height and width.

Do you take the clippings away?

Yes. Clearing away all clippings and leaving your site tidy is included as standard.
