Why prune your trees?

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to prune trees?

It depends on the species. Many trees are best pruned in late autumn or winter while dormant, but some — like cherry and plum — are pruned in summer to avoid disease. We'll always advise the right timing for your tree.

Do I need permission to prune my tree?

You may, if the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order or stands in a Conservation Area. We can check this for you and handle the application with the local council.
